A Dhaka court has granted bail to BNP vice chairman Major (Retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed who was arrested on Sunday in a case filed under Digital Security Act.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam granted the bail after hearing the bail and remand prayers on Sunday.

The court also fixed November 11 for the next proceedings of the case.

A number of lawyers, including Masud Ahmed Talukder, took part in the hearing on behalf of Major Hafiz.

Masud Ahmed said Hafizuddin was granted bail for Tk 10,000 bond.

Earlier, police produced Hafiz to the court seeking a seven-day remand. On the other hand, the lawyers filed bail petition for Hafiz.
